After reading Dorie’s comments on this French pear tart I knew I had to make it for my husband. It was all she promised. Marc my DH said it was just like we had bought it in a pâtissurie in France. I loved it and will make it again.

I used pears from a can.

I made the crust with one whole egg as suggested by Steph from It worked better than using just the egg yolk.  Thank you Steph.

I also made this chocolate cake and it is so good an easy to make I highly recommend it too.  From David Lebovitz  So little clean up everything goes into the casserole.  I make it with almonds not coco nuts.  I have made it on numerous occasions.
