This was an easy cake to make. I was a bit nervous about burning the butter so I kept a close eye on the saucepan. First time making brown butter. I used vanilla bean and essence, the vanilla beans we get over here are not of the best quality. The cake reminded me of a pound cake but more dense.
The cake lasted less than 24 hours so no weekend cake in this house. We did put raspberry jam on our slices and had some rum with it as well which might explain why. All in all an easy and tasty cake.

It looks delicious – this didn’t last very long in our house either.

Same here…no four days involved in any part of the process. 🙂 Your cake looks so homey and lovely sitting there like that.

I agree that it was rather a dense pound cake. It was an easy cake to make though.

Nope. Did not last long enough here either. I too thought it was like a pound cake, only lighter.

Love your serving suggestion! This cake is not a keeper, only in the sense that it disappears so fast you can’t keep it around. 🙂
